A long line of traffic at Creekside in Whistler at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

It's been a hectic day on Highway 99 through Whistler.

According to reports on the Sea to Sky Road Conditions Facebook page, emergency vehicles are at the scene of an accident near the Tim Hortons in Creekside.

Whistler RCMP Cst. Katrina Boehmer confirmed members are on the scene of a collision involving two vehicles at London Lane and Highway 99.

"Traffic is moving in both directions at this time, although the backlog might mean it’s moving a bit slower than usual," Boehmer said at about 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday.

"One person sustained injuries in the collision and the investigation is still ongoing."

Earlier on Tuesday, the highway was reduced to single-lane alternating traffic near Nordic while crews worked to remove a fallen tree.

Meanwhile, south of the resort, an accident earlier Tuesday near Brohm Lake had traffic crawling between Squamish and Whistler.

All of this to say, if you're hitting the road anytime soon, you might want to give yourself some extra time.
