BC Transit and the Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) are seeking input on the future of the Valley Express.
In 2018, the RMOW and BC Transit launched the Route 10 Valley Express bus line as a pilot project, connecting the Emerald neighbourhood in the north of the municipality to Function Junction in the south.
The pilot project proved popular with the public and has remained one of the most ridden routes in the Whistler transit system. Between 2019 and 2021, Route 10 ridership grew by 175 per cent, making it the fifth busiest route overall.
Since the municipality introduced the bus route, it has implemented changes to address issues with safety and customer feedback. Now BC Transit and the RMOW are seeking feedback on the Route 10 Valley Express Pilot Project, with a survey that begins Dec. 5 and ends Dec. 31.
Riders are asked to answer three key questions:
- Does the timing of this route make sense in Function Junction?
- Do you support the recent routing changes on the 10 Valley Express?
- Do you support reducing service on routes 20 and 30 to add more frequency on Route 10?
A link to the survey can be found here.
