On-mountain safety is an integral part of any day skiing or snowboarding at ski resorts around the world. To thank ski patrollers for their hard work, consider taking part in International Ski Patrol Day (ISPD), Feb. 10.
The event started in 2022 with ski brand Helly Hansen promoting it at various resorts. The brand is donating five per cent of e-commerce sales and sales from select retail store sales on the day, with funds going towards international ski patrol organizations, including Fédération Internationale des Patrouilles de Ski, Canadian Ski Patrol, and The Northwest Avalanche Center.
"At Helly Hansen, we make professional-grade gear to help people stay and feel alive in the mountains, and we're proud to outfit over 55,000 professionals globally, including those at the heart of keeping the mountain safe and open for all—ski patrollers," said Joumana Løvstad, chief marketing officer at Helly Hansen, in a press release. "With ISPD 2025, we celebrate their passion and unwavering dedication, and, alongside our resort partners, we invite mountain-goers around the world to join us in thanking them for all that they do to keep the mountain safe for everyone."
This year, Helly Hansen will be at Red Mountain, Fernie, Sun Peaks, Panorama, Kicking Horse, Mount Washington, Mont-Sainte-Anne, Stoneham, Bromont, Snow Valley, Kimberly, Lake Louise, Marmot Basin.
