Local builder Alair Whistler is a finalist for a Georgie Award in the best renovation category.
The company's "Fresh Tracks" project is up for Best Condo Residential Renovation under $250,000.
The project was built by Alair Whistler with interior design by Integrated Design Studios.
Winners will be announced at an awards gala in Vancouver on May 25.
Another Whistler builder, Schreyer Construction, is also nominated in four categories.
The 2024 awards feature 52 categories grouped in six focus areas: Residential Construction—New; Residential Construction—Renovation; Interior Design, Merchandising and Landscaping; Sales and Marketing; Special Achievement Awards; and the Grand Georgie Awards.
“The dedication of this year’s finalists to designing and building exceptional homes continues to elevate the standards of the industry and enhance the overall beauty, and functionality of communities across British Columbia.” said Neil Moody, CEO of the B.C. CHBA, in a release.
“2024 will likely bring in many changes in housing policy that we are hopeful will enable our members to get homes built faster than ever before. The home building professionals that have been named finalists for these awards will be the leaders of meeting that challenge.”
To be eligible for a Georgie Award, the company must be a CHBA BC member, and the submitted project must have been built, renovated, developed, created, and marketed from Jan. 1, 2022 to Oct. 31, 2023. The finalists and winners are selected by a judging panel of out-of-province industry professionals and the results are verified by an independent accounting firm.
