Half a dozen crews will compete for a prize pool of over $17,000 in the World Ski and Snowboard Festival's (WSSF) 2024 Intersection contest. Newcomers Truth Smith, Valerie St-Arnaud and Cristobal Ruiz will join Sam Tuff, Brin Alexander and defending champ Geoff Brown in a quest to produce a four-to-six minute film over the course of 12 days.

Born-and-raised Whistlerite Smith, known as both a snowboarder and skateboarder, is ready to step up to the plate alongside Caleb Chomlack, Lane Weaver, Finn Finestone, Zak Murray and their gang of up-and-coming riders.

St-Arnaud, a seasoned filmmaker with a love for the mountains and storytelling, is gearing up for a fresh challenge with Maria Thomsen, Grete Eliassen, Tara Jane Hickey and Marie-Pier Prefontaine in tow.

Brown and "Out of Service!" are gunning for a second straight breakthrough after pleasing crowds and judges with their South Park-themed parody of snowboarding and sledding. They'll have to fend off last year's runner-up Alexander and "The Dongboys", who specialize in eyebrow-raising backcountrry and park shenanigans.

Sam Tuff and "The Dead Barbies" also look to make more noise after earning third place and the People's Choice award last year.

Intersection is co-produced by Chris Rasman, Mark Sollors and Jody Wachniak. Rasman and Wachniak will also judge the 2024 event along with Jeff Shmuk and Alex Armstrong.

Films will be shown on April 11 before a live audience. Follow the WSSF website for more updates.
