WHAT: Pemberton Valley Music Festival

Over a dozen musicians will gather in the shadow of beautiful Mount Currie next week to put on one of the largest music festivals the Pemberton area has ever seen.
Scheduled acts are making the trip from across Canada to be part of the action. From the rock of John Bottomley to the country of Tianna Lefebvre and the Celtic sounds of Tiller’s Folly and their Irish dancers, there will be something for everyone at the Pemberton Valley Music Festival.
"We’ve got a bass player from Bryan Adams’ (band) coming, Colin James’ sax player is coming," says organizer Barry Woodhouse. "The band The Convertibles claim to have the world’s best Hammond organist out there. They won’t even tell me who’s in their lineup. The quality of the musicianship right across the board is huge."
If the music isn’t enough to entertain the young ones, children’s rides and games will also be on the fairgrounds, including horses and a ferris wheel. For the more adventurous there will be hot air balloon and helicopter rides. And biking, fishing and hiking are never far away.
Camping is available for the Aug. 31-Sept. 3 event, so visitors can enjoy a single day or an entire weekend package. Advance tickets will run you $25/day or $60/weekend (includes camping/RV fee).

Scheduled to perform Saturday: Davy’s Locker, John Bottomley, Fun Gus, Suzanne Gitzi, Slivertooth, Skydog, Yield, Incognito, The Convertibles.
Scheduled to perform Sunday: John Bottomley, Slivertooth.
Scheduled to perform Monday: Slivertooth, The Holly Burke Band, Tiller’s Folly and the Irish Dancers, Tianna Lefebvre.
