A brand-new show has arrived at the Pemberton Museum.
Until September 29, the museum will be hosting its first Pet Portrait Exhibition. This collection features artwork courtesy of 29 artists from across the Sea to Sky corridor in celebration of dogs, cats and all sorts of animal companions that people hold dear.
The opening night party is this Wednesday, September 6 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. involving a cash bar, various treats and music from DJ Soul Club. Guests will also have the chance to win a Whiskers gift certificate.
The Pet Portrait Exhibition will also include a workshop led by local artist Kelsey Bareham. On September 23, attendees will learn to create a custom acrylic portrait of their own pet in a 2.5-hour class with guidance from Bareham. Equipment is provided, and artists of all skill levels are welcome. The cost is $30 for Pemberton Arts Council (PAC) members and $45 for non-members.
