The upcoming Whistler Film Festival (WFF) will open it's doors on Dec. 4 with The Last Showgirl: a drama starring Pamela Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis and Dave Bautista. It tells the story of an experienced showgirl (Anderson) who must look to an uncertain future after her show abruptly ends a 30-year run.

On Dec. 8, the festival closes with Better Man. This Michael Gracey-helmed biopic is based on the true tale of British pop icon Robbie Williams: including his dramatic breakout, shocking fall and unlikely resurgence.

Music is a prominent theme this year—so much so that the festival added a new program aptly titled "Play It Loud!" launching Dec. 5, with the world premiere of Blue Rodeo: Lost Together. As one of Canada’s most beloved acts, fans won’t want to wait on tickets as band founders Greg Keelor and Jim Cuddy will be in attendance.

“We couldn’t imagine a better place to premiere our documentary than at the site of one of our top three most memorable gigs: the concert in the square after Sidney Crosby’s golden goal at the 2010 Olympic Games,” says Cuddy in a press release. “We’re thrilled to share our story with the incredible people of Whistler and can’t wait to take in that beautiful mountain air once again.”
