A new local magazine is launching October 13 at the Whistler Writers Festival (WWF).

The Lupine Review showcases 16 of the Sea to Sky’s budding artists: among them poets from Pemberton, artists from Squamish and Whistler and short story writers from throughout the corridor. An online edition will follow the 28-page print magazine.

The new publication is a volunteer initiative brought to fruition by author Colleen MacDonald, journalist Abby Deveney, and graphic designer Rae Kearney,

“The lupine flower represents beginnings, renewal, hope. Found throughout our region, its seeds are carried far and wide. It is vigorous, resilient and beautiful to behold. The name was a natural fit," said the trio in a press release.

A free launch party for The Lupine Review will be held on October 13 at 6:45 p.m. at the Maury Young Arts Centre. Guests can RSVP here.

The Lupine Review will be available to purchase at the WWF and at Armchair Books in Whistler. In a release, its creators thanked the WWF and the Whistler Writing Society (WWS) for their support.
