The Whistler Village Beer Festival (WVBF) has announced its music lineup for the tenth edition of its Main Event. Four live acts from the Sea to Sky corridor will perform on Saturday, September 16, to 3,500 attendees: Red Chair, Introduce Wolves, Live in the House and The Sounds of Stache.
“We really wanted to focus on showcasing local talent,” says Brittia Thompson, strategic director at Gibbons Whistler, in a press release. “These acts will have you dancing and singing along. It’s definitely a party you won’t want to miss!”
Local favourites Red Chair will be closing the show with a high-energy set that covers rock hits from the 1950s to the present day.
One of the Sea to Sky’s newest bands, Introduce Wolves, will be getting the party started as soon as gates open. Formed in the mid-2020s, this four-piece alt-rock band will showcase their soaring melodic hooks, fuzzy guitars, progressive rhythms, and driving basslines as they draw inspiration from bands such as Queens of the Stone Age and The Smashing Pumpkins.
To keep things rolling into the afternoon, Live in the House will be pumping out a soul-melting blend of funky house, Latin, and breaks infused with a backbeat of sizzling live percussion and sun-drenched saxophone that will catapult you straight to the shores of Ibiza, the forests of Shambhala, and the deserts of Burning Man.
Rounding out the lineup are The Sounds of Stache, the ultimate sonic conductor, with local legend Heather Paul MCing.
In addition to these four acts, WVBF’s Main Event will feature over 50 craft beverage manufacturers pouring over 100 varieties of cider, beer, canned cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages, complemented by food trucks, lawn games, and more.
