There’ll be two new festivals in the area this summer and both are issuing a call for help.
The Whistler Arts Experience, sponsored by the Whistler Arts Council and Tourism Whistler, is a week long event starting July 1. It will showcase the talent of local artists and artisans in public displays, workshops and gallery walks. Call 938-0498 for more information.
And just to the north, The Pemberton Music Festival is going to be a classic rock blow out. Already confirmed to perform are Chilliwack, Prism, Powder Blues, Lee Aaron, Headpins and Rick Tippy. Organizer, Barry Woodhouse, is looking for volunteers for Aug. 31-Sept. 3. Woodhouse says he’s open to any ideas from anyone who’d like to participate, including local artisans.
