The Audain Prize for the Visual Arts will be presented on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 1 p.m., recognizing one of British Columbia’s most distinguished artists with $100,000 in cash.

Selected by an independent panel of jurors, the annual Audain Prize celebrates the outstanding endeavours of B.C artists, and is administered by the Audain Art Museum.

Since its establishment in 2004, the Audain Prize has been granted to some of Canada’s most influential creative talents including Dana Claxton, Stan Douglas, Gathie Falk, James Hart, Susan Point, Gordon Smith and Takao Tanabe.

The award represents the Audain Foundation’s ongoing mission to raising the profile of Canadian artists, and is one of only three major annual arts awards in Canada to issue a six-figure cash prize.

The ceremony will be held in the Pacific Ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Five $7,500 travel grants for B.C. students in university-level visual arts programs will be given out as well.
