The Pemberton Arts Council is set to turn storefronts into art galleries with the return of ArtHop this fall.
But first, they’re seeking submissions from artists in Pemberton, Birken, Mount Currie or the N’Quatqua area before the Aug. 22 deadline.
In an effort to keep the event “fresh and fun,” they’re encouraging new and returning artists to submit new artwork (as in, art that hasn’t been shown at the event or in a Pemberton business before).
Some other requirements: the art must be two-dimensional and able to be hung on a wall or window; it must be between 20.32 cm by 20.32 cm and 121.92 cm by 121.92 cm in size; artists can submit a maximum of five finished pieces.
The ArtHop team will send out emails to accepted artists by Aug. 30 and those artists will have to hand in their work between Sept. 12 and 14.
Art lovers, meanwhile, will be able to see the pieces at 13 locations across the Village from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
