Police watchdog investigating Vancouver arrest at Tim Hortons

The man was transported to a hospital where the injury was confirmed, according to the IIO.

British Columbia’s police watchdog is looking for witnesses after a man was injured during an arrest at a Tim Hortons. 

On April 10 at 2 a.m., Vancouver police officers responded to a disturbance call inside a Tim Hortons in the 700-block of Davie Street, at the intersection with Howe Street.

Police attempted to arrest the man and he suffered an injury. The man was transported to the hospital, where the injury was confirmed and he was treated. 

The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. did not release further details about the extent of the injury. 

Investigators with the IIO are looking to speak with anyone who was inside during the time of the arrest and saw the interaction between the police and the man.
