While the South Coast forecast called for a high chance of rain, skies were clear for the epic super blood wolf moon and total lunar eclipse last night.
As a result, many British Columbians were privy to a truly amazing celestial display. Big, brilliant, and beautiful, the moon looked a whopping 15 per cent brighter and seven per cent bigger than a regular full moon due to its proximity to earth. Further, many photos captured its sultry amber or copper hue, which was caused by the earth’s shadow.
The January supermoon also coincided with a total lunar eclipse – an event that won’t occur again until 2021.
